It is in evitable that all of us have good and bad days. Some days, we awake ready to take on the world full force, and other days… not so much. A missed workout or deviation from your diet plan is not a life-ending event (in fact, we believe that occasional “off-days” are necessary for long-term success!) Within the long-term plan, however, you cannot let your bad days interrupt your overall progress. The key is to keep them to a minimum, and push yourself through some of those down moments… sometimes with a little outside inspiration!
Below are some quotes, sayings, poems, and parables… to drive you when you are not inherently driven, to motivate you when you can’t motivate yourself, and to get you energized when you think you just can’t find the energy!

WHAT IS A WORKOUT?
A workout is 25% perspiration and 75% determination. Stated another way, it is one part physical exertion and three parts self-discipline. Doing it is easy once you get started.
A workout makes you better than you were yesterday. It strengthens the body, relaxes the mind, and toughens the spirit. When you workout regularly, your problems diminish and your confidence grows.
A workout is a personal triumph over laziness and procrastination. It is the Badge of a winner-the mark of an organized, goal-orientated person who has taken charge of his/her Destiny.
A workout is a wise use of time and an investment in excellence. It is a way of preparing for lives challenges and it takes to what is necessary.
A workout is a key that helps unlock the door to opportunity and success. Hidden within each of us is an extraordinary force. Physical and mental fitness are triggers that can release it.
A workout is a form of rebirth. When you finish a good workout, you don't simply feel better...
YOU FEEL BETTER ABOUT YOURSELF !
-George Allen

“A Word on the Ancient Warrior…”
From ancient Japan to the frontiers of the Wild West existed a type of person who was renowned for his ferocity and skill in fighting. He was also feared and respected for his resourcefulness and ingenuity. He would frequently overcome great odds and accomplish the tasks of four men. He exhibited personal qualities that were envied by even his greatest adversaries. This person was the warrior.
The warrior was revered for his single-mindedness of purpose and his commitment to personal excellence. Mastery and dedication were his trademarks. He would endure great hardships to attain his goals and accomplish his mission. However, the warrior always put his achievements within a larger framework.
The warrior also exhibited a wholeness of living that ,at first glance, seemed surprising from one so committed to duty and purpose. The warrior placed a great emphasis on advancing his culture, his family, his art, his spiritual pursuits, and his daily rituals. He aimed at achieving a state of completeness from which he could contribute to a greater whole. The ancient warrior was purposeful, resourceful, and even noble. In many ways, he was an example of the highest levels of mastery and completeness that could be achieved by the human species. I submit to you that the image of a warrior is appropriate and relevant in today’s life. I submit to you the challenge to be the warrior…
- Tom Kubistant
In truth, the only difference between those who have failed and those who have succeeded lies in the difference of their habits. Good habits are the key to all success. Bad habits are the unlocked door to failure. Thus, the first law I will obey, which precedeth all others is – I will form good habits and become their slave.
- Og Mandino
Compete like you are Number 1. Train like you are Number 2.

Attempt the Impossible… To achieve all that is possible, you must attempt the impossible. To be as much as you can be, you must dream of being more. Your dream is the promise of all that you can become.
- Linda Barnes
Today, I will perform the best that I possibly can. I can control today. I will worry about tomorrow tomorrow.

Each Warrior wants to leave the mark of his will, his signature, on important
acts he touches. This is not the voice of ego but of the human spirit, rising up
and declaring that it has something to contribute to the solution of the hardest problems,
no matter how vexing!
- Pat Riley
There is one quality which one must possess to win, and that is a clarity of purpose.
This is the knowledge of what one wants and a burning desire to achieve it.

To every person, there comes that special moment when he is tapped on the shoulder to do a very special thing unique only to him. What a tragedy if that moment finds him unprepared for the work that would be his finest hour.
- Winston Churchill
“The Power Within…”
Within our reach lies every path we ever dream of taking.
Within our power lies every step we ever dream of making.
Within our range lies every joy we ever dream of seeing.
Within ourselves lies everything we ever dream of being.
- Hallmark
Today, I will multiply my value a hundredfold.
I will commit not the terrible crime of aiming too low.
I will do the work that a failure will not do.
I will always let my reach exceed my grasp.
I will never be content with my performance.
I will always raise my goals as soon as they are attained.
I will always strive to make the next hour better than this one.
I will always announce my goals to the world.
This will be the standard by which I live in the future.
- Og Mandino
Arriving at one goal is the starting point to another.
- John Dewey
Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won. It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours.
- Ayn Rand
The mirror shows not only who you are, but where you are in life…
and what it took to get there.

“The Guy In The Glass” When you get what you want in your struggle for pelf
And the world makes you king for the day,
Just go to the mirror and look at yourself
And see what the guy has to say.
For it isn’t your father or mother or wife
Whose judgment upon you must pass
The feller whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the guy staring back from the glass
He’s the feller to please, never mind all the rest,
For he’s with you clear to the end
And you’ve passed your most dangerous, difficult test
If the guy in the glass is your friend.
You may be like Jack Horner and “chisel” a plum
And think you’re a wonderful guy.
But the man in the glass says you’re only a bum
If you can’t look him straight in the eye.
You can fool the whole world down the pathway of years
And get pats on the back as you pass.
Bur your final reward will be the heartache and tears,
If you’ve cheated the guy in the glass.
- Dale Wimbrow
The credit belongs to those who are actually in the arena, who strive valiantly; who know the great enthusiasm, the great devotions, and spend themselves in a worthy cause; who at their best know the triumph of high achievement; and who, at their worst, if they fail, fail while daring greatly, so that their place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory or defeat.
- Theodore Roosevelt
Do just once what others say you can’t, and you will never pay
attention to their limitations again.
- Edmund Brown Jr.
There is more in us than we know. If we can be made to see it, perhaps,
for the rest of our lives, we will be unwilling to settle for less.
- Kurt Hahn
If you have a positive attitude and constantly strive to give your best effort,
eventually you will overcome your immediate problems and find you are
ready for greater challenges.
- Pat Riley
“It’s All In A State of Mind” If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don’t.
If you like to win but don’t think you can,
It’s almost certain you won’t
If you think you’ll lose, you’ve lost
For out in the world you’ll find
Success begins with a fellows will;
It’s all in a state of mind
For many a game is lost,
Before even a play is run,
And many a coward fails
Before even his work has begun
Think big and your deeds will grow;
Think small and you’ll fall behind
Think that you can and you will;
It’s all in a state of mind
If you think you’re outclassed, you are;
You’ve go to think high to rise.
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the fellow who thinks he can!

who has it for 30 years who makes a success of his life.

I read and walked for miles at night along the beach, searching endlessly for

It never crossed my mind that that person could be me.
